Hey guys, I'm setting up a new home design studio in Dallas and need to get the power turned on by tomorrow. I'm looking at prepaid options to keep my freelance expenses separate and avoid a hard credit check right now. Has anyone compared Now Power and Payless Power? Both seem to offer same-day service but I'm not sure which is better.

I've actually had both over the years. Payless is okay but their daily usage alerts used to lag for me, which made it annoying to track. I switched to Now Power last year and their portal is way more straightforward. Plus getting connected was literally a breeze, I think my lights were on within two hours.

Definitely compare the actual rate per kWh on the EFL (Electricity Facts Label) for both. Prepaid is super convenient for keeping freelance overhead flexible, but the rates can fluctuate. I lean towards Now Power though, customer service was surprisingly helpful when I had a billing question.
