My plastic container pile after meal prep is starting to bug me, but what's the fix?
I spend Sundays packing lunches and dinners for the family, and the stack of used plastic containers and bags really adds up. Some folks argue that switching to glass or stainless steel is the only way to be sustainable, since they last for years. But with three kids, I've had containers crack, lids vanish, and whole sets ruined in the dishwasher. I've tried reusing plastic bags until they fall apart, but it takes time and doesn't feel very clean. Buying ingredients with less packaging helps, but then I need more jars and bins to store everything. So, I'm stuck between wanting to reduce waste and dealing with the chaos of a busy household. What's your take? Do you go all in on reusable stuff, or find simpler ways to cut down on trash?

How do you tackle the 'not clean' feeling with reused bags?

What is it about boxes that feels cleaner than bags? I get what @dylan370 means, but maybe we just trust cardboard more.

Notice how we never feel weird about reusing a cereal box for storage but bags feel gross lol. I try to only reuse them for dry stuff like pasta or rice where it doesn't really matter.
