inBig grin moment from a simple sand mold.
Three-peat on the fine sand and tapping the mold. I used a cheap vibrating table from Harbor Freight for a full minute on my last backyard pour, which was overkill but worked. The alloy was just my usual mess of scrap extrusion and old lawn chair parts, so probably close to A356.

inI finally stopped skipping my budget review meetings with myself... it felt silly at first.
That weekly check-in trick really does work. It forces you to face the numbers, so you're not just guessing what you can spend. Makes the whole idea of a budget feel real instead of just a plan you wrote down once.

inBalancing loads on uneven ground (it's a real pain, you know?)
Check the ground first to see how bad it is. Uneven spots make loads tilt and things can fall over easy. You end up moving the weight around a lot just to keep it steady. It takes slow, careful work to get everything sitting right. I often use scrap wood pieces to prop up wobbly corners, but that adds more steps. Really, the key is accepting it will be slow and fussy.

inHonestly, my burger flipper interview included a ketchup explosion
Ever think we overthink what counts as a real mistake?

inWorking on a system yesterday showed me why max airflow isn't for every home
My 1987 ranch house had one room that stayed 15 degrees hotter until I messed with the register dampers. Sure, @kimc49, "balancing airflow" is the nice term for it. I called it a two hour swear fest where I crawled around guessing which vent to close. Felt like a wizard when the temperature actually evened out, though. Old houses just want to fight you.
