inAm I the only one who just read that a 1% fee difference can cost you over $100k in retirement?
What, like a magic trick?

inWasted $60 on a 'complete' anime box set that was missing the OVAs and had terrible subtitles
That "complete" label is such a trap these days. It makes me wonder if they're banking on people not knowing what should actually be in a series. You buy it thinking you're getting everything, but there's no real standard for what that means. It feels like false advertising, but they hide behind small print. They know most fans want the full story and will pay for it. It's a cheap way to sell an incomplete product at a full price.

inShoutout to the crew that finally got the swing ladder right on the old Erie dredge
Buddy of mine works on a Great Lakes tug. His whole crew skipped the manual, just eyeballed it based on an older barge. Ran that dredge for two months shaking itself apart. They finally brought in a surveyor with a digital inclinometer. Thing was off by almost five degrees. Cost them a fortune in downtime and parts. Now they do a proper check with tools before the season starts, every time.

inShoutout to my uncle's weird moon landing rant at Thanksgiving
You know, when keith_henderson talks about it taking over someone's whole brain, I get that. But sometimes it's not about proving a point, it's about the holes in the official story. Like with the moon landing, the "crosshairs behind objects" thing. NASA says it's a film processing bleed, but that just sounds like a fancy way of saying "trust us." When the simple answers feel made up, it's no wonder people grab the binder.

inI just hit 100 hours of total exposure on my Orion Nebula project and the difference is wild
Yeah, hitting that triple digit mark changes everything. I was shocked at how much faint dust showed up after my own long haul on a target. Sage528 is right, stacking time is the only way to pull that stuff out. I found that breaking it into many short sessions over good nights gave me way cleaner data to work with in the end.
