Burned $800 on a crappy CRM that promised the moon but couldn't even auto-email clients

Six months ago I signed up for this flashy CRM that all the agency YouTubers were pushing. Sounded perfect for tracking leads and sending automated follow ups. Turns out the automation broke every other week and support took 3 days to reply. I wasted two weeks migrating all our client data in and then another week moving it back to our old spreadsheet system. Now I'm paranoid about trying any new software. Has anyone else gotten burned by a tool that looked good in the demo but fell apart in real use?

Ask what system you landed on after the whole mess, if you don't mind me asking. I mean, I've heard the same story from a few other small business owners who got burned by those slick demos too. Just curious if there's a solid alternative out there that actually works without all the headaches.

That $800 could have bought me 40 burritos and a heartfelt apology from myself for my terrible decision making. Guess we both learned the hard way that "demo magic" is just corporate theater for "this breaks on Tuesday after 3 PM.
