Dropped $600 on a project management tool last month and it actually made things worse

I figured Monday.com would save us time on client updates, but after onboarding the whole team we're spending more hours clicking through automations than we ever did just sending emails. Anyone else have a tool that looked good on paper but backfired?

Laughing but also crying a little because I've been there with a different tool. Spent way too much on Asana and then realized I was basically paying to make extra work for myself. The automations are never as simple as they promise, you end up building little workflows that break every time someone updates a task. Honestly sometimes a shared Google Doc and a weekly email update is the real pro move, not the $600 software. Hope you can get a refund for that thing.

Ask how many people on the team actually wanted that tool in the first place? Force-feeding software rarely works because even the best tool is useless if people resent using it. A lot of this stuff just creates busywork that keeps a few managers happy while everyone else wastes time clicking around.
