Hot take: I used to think a big team meeting every Monday was the only way to start the week.
Two weeks ago, our project manager was out sick and we skipped the usual 9 AM check-in. Instead, I just sent a quick email with three bullet points. We got more done that Monday morning than in the past month. I realized the hour-long meeting was mostly people repeating updates from Friday. Now I just do a short written summary. Has anyone else cut a regular meeting and seen better results?

We had a daily 15 minute stand-up that dragged to 45 minutes... I switched it to a shared doc where everyone posts their daily focus. We check it once in the morning and that's it. Saves so much time and people actually read it.

Love that idea, @grace926. Stand-ups that drag on are the worst, they kill the whole morning. Switching to a doc is smart, it forces people to be clear and cuts out all the rambling. Might suggest this to my own team, we waste so much time in meetings.
