I thought the hype around 'Bocchi the Rock' was just another fad
When it first came out, I saw so many posts about it and figured it was just a flash in the pan. Then my friend in Chicago kept telling me to watch just one episode, so I finally did last month. The way it shows social anxiety through the animation and music actually felt real, not just a joke. Anyone else have a show they were totally wrong about at first?

Yeah, the part about the social anxiety feeling real hits hard. My buddy swore he'd never watch some cartoon about video games, but his sister made him try "Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken." He thought it was just kids drawing. Then he saw how they showed that crazy creative drive, you know, that need to make your weird ideas real no matter what. He called me after binge watching it all, just going on about how he got it wrong.

Classic case of someone getting dragged into an anime and having their whole world view flipped. I love when people realize cartoons aren't just for kids, it's like watching someone discover a whole new color. Your buddy going from "never" to a late night phone call is the best kind of defeat. Sounds like his sister deserves a medal for that intervention.
