I was at a con in Atlanta and overheard a debate about filler arcs that completely rewired my brain

I mean, I was just waiting in line for ramen when these two guys got into it over whether the G-8 arc in 'One Piece' was peak or pointless, and now I can't watch any long-running show without mentally editing out the 'bad' episodes, which is maybe a problem, right?

Just watch the whole thing, it's more fun.

Totally agree with you... skipping ahead ruins the whole flow. You miss all the little details and build-up that make the payoff work. It's like someone telling you the end of a joke before you hear the setup. The whole experience gets flattened out and loses its point. Just letting it play out is always the better move.
