Just learned the original Sailor Moon anime had over 200 episodes

I was reading an old fan wiki last night and saw the total count for the classic 90s series is 200 episodes. I always thought it was a lot shorter, maybe around 100. It's wild how much story they packed in over five seasons. Did you have any idea it was that long?

Yeah, and that's just the main series. Don't forget the three movies and the specials. They really stretched every arc, especially the first season with the Dark Kingdom. You'd get whole episodes just about Usagi failing a test or the girls going to a hot spring. It was a different time for pacing.

But what if that slow pacing was the whole point? Those filler episodes built the normal world the girls were fighting for, making you care before it got threatened. Now every show is so scared of boring people that they skip the quiet moments, and the big fights feel empty. Maybe we lost something when we decided everything had to move at breakneck speed.
