Hot take: I posted a vague 'ask me anything' last week and got zero replies, but when I asked a specific question about fixing a 2015 Honda Civic's AC, I got 12 helpful answers in an hour.
The 'ask anything' part only works if you actually ask a specific thing, like my problem with the Civic's AC compressor in Phoenix last Tuesday, instead of just saying 'I'm bored, AMA'.

Found that exact same thing works for me too @betty_shah. I once posted 'anyone know about lawn mowers?' and got nothing. But when I asked specifically about a dead spot in my Craftsman mower's pull start on a humid day, three guys jumped in with the exact fix. People want to solve a real puzzle, not a vague question. Your AC problem was specific with details like the year and model, so folks could picture the issue and offer actual advice instead of guessing. It makes the whole thing feel more like helping a neighbor than answering a trivia question.

So did the specific AC question work because people actually knew the answer, or because it felt like a real problem to solve?
