My anvil flipped over in the middle of a demo
I was out at a job site in Fairfield last Tuesday. Had my anvil set up on a makeshift stump. Started hammering a hot piece and the whole thing tipped sideways. Took me 20 minutes to get it reset with the customer just staring at me. Anyone else ever have your setup just betray you mid-strike?

...and that's when you realize your whole setup is only as stable as the ground it's sitting on. That portable anvil life is tricky, man. What kind of stump were you using? Was it cut flat on top or just a random chunk of wood?

Kinda funny you mention that, @briannguyen... I swear it's the same pattern everywhere I look. You spend all this time building something good, but one little weak spot brings the whole thing down. My old setup was a chunk of hickory I cut flat with a chainsaw, but the ground underneath wasn't level. That single tilt made every hammer blow feel off. It's like how my buddy's truck runs perfect until a busted tie rod makes the whole front end wobble... one little thing, and the whole system falls apart.
