A local in Lisbon told me to skip the famous tram and take the ferry instead

He said the number 15 tram is packed and slow, but the ferry across the Tagus River costs under 2 euros and gives you the best view of the city. Has anyone else found a better local transit option that saved money and time?

The ferry is just a different kind of crowded.

Oh man, that local was totally right. I did the exact same thing last year. The tram line was a total zoo, just crawling along. Hopping on the ferry was a complete game changer, cheap and way more relaxed. You get that killer postcard view back toward the city without getting stuck in traffic. Honestly, skipping the tourist stuff for regular transit is always a win.

What about the ferry in bad weather though?
