Had a nightmare week trying to make a tiny bathroom feel bigger
Spent 6 days ripping out a pedestal sink and swapping in a wall-mounted one, only to realize the plumbing was 3 inches off center. Has anyone else dealt with old plumbing layouts that just refuse to cooperate with modern designs?

Three inches off center? Man that is brutal. I would have lost my mind halfway through a dry fit and just sat on the floor staring at the wall for like twenty minutes lol. Old cast iron drain pipes are the absolute worst for that too - they never line up with anything modern without some serious adapters. Bet you had to do some real creative work with offset flanges or a flexible waste pipe just to get it to work. Hope you didn't have to cut into the wall behind it too much.

@derekwalker yeah, the staring at the wall thing is REAL. I actually did that for a good 15 minutes when I realized my pipe was off by almost four inches. But you're kinda wrong about the flexible waste pipe - those things are a nightmare with cast iron because the rubber couplings never seat right on the old bell ends. I ended up using a shielded no-hub coupling and a PVC offset flange instead. Had to cut the drywall back maybe six inches but the wall itself was fine thank goodness. Just had to get creative with the strap hangers to hold it all together.
