My uncle swore I should use a level on every single shelf, even small ones
He's been building furniture for like 40 years, so I figured he knew what he was talking about. I fought it for months because who cares if a 6 inch spice rack is slightly tilted? Then I built a wall mounted desk in my apartment in Austin, ignored his advice, and now my coffee cup slowly slides to the right every single morning. Took me 2 hours to realize he was right and I had to re-drill all the brackets. So my debate is this: is it worth being that precise on small projects, or am I just being a perfectionist now? Has anyone else had a stubborn family member's advice turn out to be annoyingly correct?

Level on a tiny spice rack? That's what I said too. Then my wine bottle collection slowly turned into a lean. Physics always wins, man.

Cracked up reading this because I once hung a tiny picture frame by eye and now my whole wall looks like it's leaning into a handshake. Turns out my dad was right about levels too, and I hate admitting that.
