TIL my contractor was right about not cheaping out on subfloor prep
Had a guy tell me to spend the extra 3 hours leveling the subfloor before laying down LVP in my basement in Columbus. I thought he was just padding the bill. Fast forward 6 months and I've got a dip near the sump pit that makes the planks click every time you walk over it. Anyone else learn this lesson the hard way or did you listen the first time?

You ever lay down in bed at night and just hear a rhythmic click-click-click noise from your floor and pretend it's not happening? Yeah that's me right now. My guy warned me about the exact spot near the sump pit in my Nashville house and I was like "nah it's fine just save the $200." Now I got a walking metronome in my hallway. Thought I was smarter than the dude with 20 years experience. Real galaxy brain move on my part.

There's a pattern in life where we ignore the guy with the dirty hands and the faded work shirt, thinking we know better because we watched a few videos online. It happens with plumbers, mechanics, even the old timer at the hardware store who can tell you exactly which screw won't strip out. We'd all save a lot of time and money if we just listened to the people who have already made every mistake we're about to make.
