Pro tip: Don't try to fix a Pentax 67 mirror lock-up on a Friday afternoon.
The entire mechanism is held by a single, tiny spring that shot across my bench and into the void behind my parts cabinet. Spent the next hour with a magnet on a string. Anyone have a good source for those specific springs besides cannibalizing another body?

Oh man, that "shot across my bench" line gave me flashbacks. My buddy was fixing his RB67 and had the same thing happen with a tiny ball bearing. We heard it hit the floor and just looked at each other. We ended up moving his whole workbench and found it three days later, stuck to the leg of his jeans. He was about to order a parts camera too.

That exact thing happened with a spring from my car's window regulator last month. It feels like there's a universal law where small parts always hide just long enough to make you buy a new one. Then they show up in the dumbest place, like they were waiting for you to spend the money. It's weird how often the fix is already in your house, stuck to your clothes or hiding in plain sight.

The universe just wants to see you waste money before it gives up the goods.
