My sister said she just buys the cheapest ground coffee at the store

We were at her place in Denver and she said it all tastes the same to her anyway. It made me remember when I used to think that, before I got my first French press. What was the thing that made you first notice a real difference in coffee?

What, you mean the sludge I used to call coffee doesn't count? For me it was trying a cup at a decent local spot and realizing my usual stuff just tasted like burnt water.
