I finally stopped correcting people who call all comics 'graphic novels'
It used to bug me at my local shop, but arguing just makes new readers feel dumb. The owner told me last week he'd rather sell someone a TPB than lose a sale over semantics. Anyone else just let this one slide now?

Definitely, it adds a layer of seriousness that was missing before. When a show like The Last of Us gets mainstream awards, it forces critics to take the genre seriously. That validation pushes creators to aim higher with their stories.
