Tried a 15 minute processing time for a demi-permanent color and it came out way too dark
Honestly, I had a client with about 30% gray who wanted a subtle blend. The tube said 20 minutes, but I thought I could shave off 5 minutes since her hair was so fine. Ngl, it turned out almost two shades darker than the swatch, especially at the roots. I had to do a quick color remover to fix it, which added an extra hour to my day. Learned that fine hair can actually grab color faster, not slower. Has anyone else had a color process way quicker than expected on fine hair?

Yeah, that "fine hair can actually grab color faster" thing got me too. I once tried to rush a glaze on my own hair, thinking the same thing, and ended up with a helmet of burgundy. Looked like I dipped my head in wine.

Oh man, the "helmet of burgundy" is such a perfect way to put it. I did the EXACT same thing with a dark brown glaze. My hair just sucked it all up in like five minutes. What finally worked for me was using a conditioner-based color, the kind you mix with conditioner, and cutting the processing time in HALF from what the box said. You have to treat the timing like a suggestion, not a rule.
