I lean toward dark grays for less eye strain but my phone battery dies fast with amoleds - has anyone else found a specific hex code that actually works for both?

Did you test that #121212 against a pure black screen with an actual battery monitor or are you just guessing based on how it looks?

Feel you on this one, I've been down that same rabbit hole. Honestly, it's such a trade-off between eye comfort and battery life, especially when you're out and about all day. I landed on #121212 for my dark mode, it's not pure black but it's close enough that my AMOLED doesn't drain as fast as with lighter grays. Ngl, it still isn't perfect for battery, but my eyes thanks me after a long reading session.
