My entire design system collapsed when a junior dev accidentally overwrote our main CSS file
Last Tuesday in Chicago, someone on our team merged a PR that wiped out six months of button and spacing tokens without anyone noticing until Friday's release. We had to rebuild everything from scratch using git history and screenshots because our documentation was already outdated. Has anyone else dealt with version control disasters wiping out their design system files?

ooh man, that's brutal. I felt that one in my soul honestly. having to piece everything back together from git history and screenshots is the kind of nightmare that makes you wanna just close the laptop and walk away. we had something similar happen with a shared config file last year, took us like three weeks to get everything back to where it was. the worst part is always the little details you forget, like that one specific spacing value that made everything look right but nobody wrote down. glad you guys had at least some screenshots, those are lifesavers in situations like this.

Wait, y'all didn't have branch protection rules set up for your main CSS file? That's a tough way to learn that lesson.
