Picked a rebuilt injector pump over a new one for my 7.3 last fall...

Saved $400 going with a reman from a shop in Ohio, but after 3 months of chasing a rough idle I'm wondering if I should've just bit the bullet on a factory new one, has anyone else gone the rebuilt route and regretted it?

Man I totally get that. Bought a reman for my old F150 once and it never stopped knocking even after three warranty swaps. @the_piper you hit the nail on the head with "never ran right" because some remans are just cursed from the start. Ended up pulling it out and dropping in a junkyard motor with half the miles that ran like a sewing machine for years. Reman places just slap bearings in and call it good without checking anything else. Learned my lesson the hard way and now I only trust a fresh rebuild from a local machine shop.
