My kitchen backsplash project turned into a tile cutting nightmare
Last week I decided to finally tackle the subway tile behind my sink. I measured everything twice, felt good. Then I got to the outlet cutouts. My cheap tile cutter from the big box store just shattered three tiles in a row, each one a clean $4 down the drain. I had to drive across town to rent a proper wet saw, which added a whole extra day and $35 to the job. Honestly, trying to save money on the tool first was a huge mistake. Has anyone found a decent middle-ground tool for small jobs like this, or is renting always the way to go?
