Finally gave in and tried a different cutterhead pattern on my dredge
I've been running the same standard tooth pattern for 6 years and was sure the newer spiral setup was just marketing hype (you know how it is). But after 3 weeks on a sandy job near Lake Charles, my pump pressure dropped 15% and I didn't have to clear the intake once, so I'm a believer now. Anyone else have a tool or setup they were dead set against until they actually gave it a shot?

Three weeks on a pump and the pressure only dropped 15%? I'm shocked yours held up that long in sandy conditions. Most guys I know would be rebuilding the whole thing after a week.

Did you notice any change in wear patterns on the new cutters compared to your old ones?
