I'm convinced those fancy laser levels are a total waste of cash for most residential jobs.
I dropped $350 on one for a kitchen reno in Tempe, only to have it fail halfway through and set me back a full day while I went back to my trusty old 4-foot level and chalk line.

My buddy had the same thing happen with his Bosch. Total brick halfway through tiling a backsplash. @avery366 is right about that pendulum thing, his was totally stuck.

Yeah, that Bosch pendulum issue is way too common from what I've heard. @uma_patel19, was your buddy able to get it swapped out under warranty or did he just have to eat the cost? I wonder if the newer models fixed that or if it's still a gamble.

Ouch, that's a rough setback. What brand was the $350 laser level that failed on you? I've heard some of the cheaper pro-sumer models have real issues with the internal pendulum getting stuck.
