Am I the only one who picks up new tricks when working out of town?

Helped a friend in Colorado last week. Their method for trimming drafts is genius.

Learning from others in different places always reminds me of this time I helped a neighbor build a fence. They had a way of setting posts using local stones instead of concrete, which was both cheaper and blended with the landscape. I never would have thought of that back home where everyone just uses bags from the store. It's those little local tricks that stick with you and make you rethink your own methods. Traveling for work or fun just opens up so many chances to see how other people solve the same problems.

Totally agree with @tessa922 about local secrets. What was the actual genius method for trimming drafts? Like, were they using a specific tool or just a different order of steps? I'm always fighting with that part.

From what I've seen, you always pick up the best tricks when you're away from home. It's like every area has its own secret way of doing things that just makes sense locally.
