I was sketching a jacket for 3 hours before I realized the collar was backwards
My friend looked at my sketchbook and said 'that closure is on the wrong side, dude.' Has anyone else had a simple detail totally flip a design for them?

Oh man, that's the worst. I once spent a whole afternoon on a bag design before my sister pointed out the straps were attached to the bottom panel, not the sides. Totally ruined the shape. Now I make a checklist of basic construction points before I even start shading. It sounds dumb, but running through things like 'which side opens' or 'where do the seams go' saves me from having to erase half the page later.

Kellymurphy's checklist idea is actually genius, I need to start doing that. My brain just goes straight to the fun details and I skip the boring stuff, then I'm stuck fixing a whole drawing. It's like building a house and forgetting the front door until the end. I should probably tape a basic reminder list right to my sketchbook cover.
