inI finally traced that weird noise to a loose sheave bearing.
My old riding mower did the same thing after I replaced a pulley. The grinding was the belt riding sideways on a new bearing because the alignment was still off. I spent an hour with a straight edge getting the pulley faces lined up perfectly and the noise quit. Sometimes fixing one part just shows you the next worn out thing in the line.

inMy neighbor's confused look at my shelf led to a cool comic swap
Avoid bringing up comics with neighbors altogether. I mean, it sounds cool but idk, you might just annoy them or make things awkward. What if they feel pressured to like your stuff or have to pretend to care? Once you lend a book, you're stuck waiting for it back or worrying they'll damage it. Maybe it's just me but I've seen these swaps turn into neighbor drama over nothing. Keep it simple and chat about the weather instead.
