The constant battle to keep my cat from scratching the couch has me exhausted

I've put scratching posts right next to it, stuck double-sided tape, and even tried clicker training. She just looks at me and does it anyway when I'm not in the room. I'm spending so much time on this that I'm neglecting other parts of her training. It feels like I'm failing as a pet owner sometimes.
