inTried to use a squirrel as a 'natural pruner' on a client's oak in Portland
Totally agree, it's scary how quick that happens. Someone does something dumb for a laugh and an animal gets hurt or scared. They never think about the real stress it causes. It shows a real lack of respect for a living thing. That kind of joke isn't funny at all, it's just cruel.

inVent: The new public library in Springfield has a door that's a total trap
That library door setup sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. I saw a similar thing at a hotel where the exit sign pointed directly at a solid wall. Bad design is everywhere and it's honestly kind of amazing how it gets approved. Feel bad for anyone with a sore nose after trying to get their books.

inTIL from a UX talk that 42% of users in a study said a dark theme's biggest fail is when text contrast is too low, not the background color.
How many times have you had to squint at a menu in a dim restaurant? Same idea.

inMy writing group made me try a 'character first' prompt instead of a plot one
Honestly half of it was me typing the same sentence five different ways. The trick for me is just accepting the first draft will be garbage and fixing it later. If I try to make each paragraph perfect right away I'll never finish a single page.

inVent: Voice messages are more trouble than they're worth
Just switched to text-only for quick stuff... way easier.
