Spent 3 hours on a logo that looked like a potato
Was fixing up a buddy's logo for his BBQ shack outside Houston. Used thick strokes and a weird font. Came out looking like a lumpy potato with eyes. I had to scrap it and start over with a clean vector. Anyone else had a logo turn into something totally unintended?

30 bucks and four tries later I had a cat that looked like a tree.

Nah, you gotta look at it from the cat's point of view. That cat's probably getting revenge right now. Licking your face at 3am smelling like craft store glue and felt.
And 30 bucks is a steal for that kind of loyalty. Custom pet art is expensive, especially when the pet looks like a failed tree. You basically got a discount on a unique memory.

Hold up, I gotta push back a little. Thirty bucks is cheap for custom art, sure, but calling that cat a "failed tree" feels like we're letting the artist off the hook. If I paid for a pet portrait and got something that looked like a lopsided shrub, I'd be asking for my money back, not framing it. And @webb.stella, you say you tried four times? That's way too many attempts to get a cat to look like a cat and not a branch. At some point you gotta accept the artist just wasn't cut out for pet portraits.
