inWhy does nobody talk about how wall washing before painting became standard?
Come on, washing walls is just something paint companies made up to sell you more primer. That layer of dust and cooking grease is basically free texture, gives the paint something to grab onto. I've painted over spiderwebs and what might have been oatmeal, and it looked fine for a good five years. If it starts peeling, that's just the house telling you it's time for a new color anyway.

inUnpopular opinion: Giving up hand-stropping changed my shop's vibe.
You feel that too? My shop got so quiet after we switched, just the hum of machines now. The old rhythm of stopping to strop was its own kind of break, you know? It had a smell, a sound, a whole feel. That focus you get doing it by hand is gone, and yeah, it changed everything.

inA bird just strolled through my kitchen mid-rush
But come on, is it really that deep? These are just everyday annoyances, not some big lesson. Life with animals is always a bit messy!
