Found a 1912 book in the attic that was bound with arsenic green cloth

I was cleaning out my grandma's place in Albany and found this old poetry book. The bright green cover looked cool, but I did some reading at the library... turns out a lot of cloth from that time used arsenic dye to get that color. I had been handling it with my bare hands for a week. Has anyone else run into old books with dangerous materials? How do you deal with them?

Why does nobody talk about how bad white trim looks on a red brick house?

My street in Springfield has a lot of old red brick homes. Last month, the house next door got painted. The owners went with bright white trim on all the windows and doors. Everyone says it's classic. I think it looks terrible. It's way too harsh against the warm brick. Makes the house look cheap, like a cartoon. I told my partner it was a mistake. They said I was being too picky. But it really stands out now, in a bad way. Has anyone else seen a color combo that just doesn't work on brick?
