My neighbor said he quit his job to fix bikes in his garage

Yeah, the big plan is overrated. My five year plan from 2020 is just a list of restaurants that closed. Your neighbor gets it, he just swapped spreadsheets for sprockets. Maybe the real life design is just using the tools you already have in the garage.

Rant: I spent $400 on a home energy audit that basically told me to close my curtains

Look at the bright side, a connect the dots picture is still a picture. Did they actually find a real problem or just a bunch of minor stuff? Sometimes those reports make a big deal out of normal house stuff.

Trying to fix a broken emulsion on a hollandaise sauce

Watched my buddy try to fix a broken hollandaise by dumping in cold butter all at once. It just turned into a greasy, lumpy mess in the bowl. He had to start over from scratch with new eggs. Sometimes you just can't save it once it splits too far.

A customer swore by a homemade rust converter mix, so I tested it on a '98 Civic quarter panel

Wait, you used salt? On purpose? I have to stop right there. Every instinct says adding salt to a metal problem is just asking for more rust later on. The fact it left bare metal ready for primer is blowing my mind. I guess the acid in the vinegar and the peroxide did the heavy lifting, but I still can't get over the salt part. That feels like fixing a leak by punching another hole in the pipe.

Rant: My whole week got thrown off by a bad bag of beans from that new roaster in Springfield

Wait, did you see that article about how water changes can totally wreck coffee flavor?
