I finally stopped burning my fingers on the punty

Yeah, that loose grip thing is huge. @margaret_perry is right about letting the weight help, it just clicks once you stop fighting it.

Serious question, fridge compressors that hum but don't start are confusing me

Actually, that overload protector fix isn't as rare as @harperc79 might think, it's a pretty common culprit. I've seen it a bunch on older units just like that Kenmore. When the relay and cap check out, that little black box is the next logical thing to swap.

Rant: I had to stop watching 'You' because of the moral stuff

Actually seems like the whole point is how messed up it is. The show makes you get inside a killer's head to show how he justifies it. Lots of stories are about bad people, that doesn't mean they agree with them. Feeling uncomfortable with that is part of what makes it interesting TV. You're supposed to question why you might feel pulled in by his point of view sometimes.

My granola bar stash saves time on big installs

Smart! I read a magazine piece about tradespeople's on-the-job hacks, and keeping snacks in your pouch was a top tip. They profiled an electrician who swore by those chewy granola bars, saying it kept him from getting sloppy when a wiring job ran long. Your brain needs fuel to focus, and walking to a break room kills momentum. Stashing food right with your tools makes so much sense.
