inSerious question, why are so many binge shows using time jumps now?
Ever feel like some shows just lose their way after a few seasons? I get what you mean, @calebperez, it's annoying when the plot gets messy. What helped me was focusing on the characters I still cared about. Even if the story gets weird, seeing how they grow can make it worth watching. I stuck with one show last year that went off the rails, but the main character's journey kept me hooked. Maybe try that, or just drop it if it's not fun anymore, you know?

inGiving code answers to beginners feels wrong, even if they ask for it
Yeah that part about "watching someone finally get it" is so true. I was reading something similar about how that struggle is actually where the real learning happens. Totally makes sense now, like you said @faith_smith.

inHot take: Green building sensors are locking out people with motion issues
Ugh, I mean, this is such a real problem. I had the same thing happen at my kid's school after they put in new sensor taps and hand dryers in the bathrooms. The dryers would stop before her little hands were even dry. We basically had to complain until they brought in someone with a walker and a wheelchair to test all the timers. The fix was just making the delay way, way longer than the book said, like you did. Idk why that isn't just the standard from the start. You have to test with real people moving at all sorts of speeds, not just a quick walk-by from an installer.

inI think assigned boarding groups on planes do more harm than good
Yeah, the added stress and time is real. It's supposed to be organized but just creates a crowd of people all standing near the gate way too early for their group. Then you have to shuffle past everyone in the wrong rows when you finally do board. I've found it's faster when airlines just do back to front without all the group numbers.
